In a tweet, President Trump suggested delaying the November election because of his complaint that mail-in voting will fraudulently impact the election. Congressional leaders rejected that idea, and in interviews with KDFW FOX 4, KTVT CBS 11 and KLIF Morning News, LPHS attorney David Coale says the president cannot move the date on his own authority. “The president can’t just say I want to have an election on a different day, so I can stay in office or have an election that is more favorable. Congress gets to make that decision.”
