David Coale Comments on SCOTUS, Texas Cases to Watch in 2017

When looking at the cases likely to be heard in 2017 at the U.S. Supreme Court, Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann partner David Coale is closely following several cases that have Texas ties. In an interview with U.S. News & World Report, he notes that the court’s pending deliberations on voting rights, redistricting, and the fairness of the criminal justice system to racial and ethnic minorities in some ways mirror issues debated in the presidential election.  In a Law360 article on five key appellate and trial court cases expected to heard in Texas this year, Mr. Coale commented on the Fifth Circuit’s pending review of a False Claims judgment against Trinity Industries, and whether that ruling would clarify how much power courts and juries have to evaluate the policies of federal agencies.  Read the U.S. News article here and the Law360 article here.
